The Curse...
It's already 27th of August and we have yet to hang up the National flag at my office. Suddenly remembering, I exclaimed loudly that we had to hang the flag up, startling my colleague who was working diligently on her laptop (no, I'm not being sarcastic, she really is too hardworking). We took the flag out, and I had the honour of pulling up the blinds behind my seat where the window is. See, the thing about the window blinds is that we were hardly successful in releasing it down after pulling it up in the past.
However, the blinds on the second REFUSED to stay up today, so I had to step on the string attached to the blinds in order to keep it up.after that, we managed to hang the flag without any problem. It was time to release the blinds. Lifting my foot up, I expected the second window's blinds to fall down since it wasn't "locked". Strangely enough, nothing happened. The blinds remained secured up the window. BAH. After a few tries, we managed to release the blinds.
Now the first window blinds however...the more we tried to release it, the higher up it went. Until...we were exposed to the world like a newborn baby -_- After much desperate struggling, the blinds came down. Good.
Then I turned back to my computer and found that the screen was blank. Strange. I didn't turn it off. That was when my colleague commented that she "smelt something burning". Panicking, I tried to turn my computer on a few times. Nothing happened. I crouched down and took a sniff at my CPU's air vents. The only thing that came to my mind was, "OMFG!!!"
My colleague however, made the situation funny...when it shouldn't be. She innocently (or jokingly?) asked whether the CPU "fried" due to the sunlight that came in from the "blind-less" window earlier. I laughed out loud and told her that that was impossible. Fortunately, my work was backed up so I could use another computer to do my work.
Hours later, after having a good lunch at Sugimoto (Japanese restaurant, duh)I walked back to office. I looked up to admire our handiwork (the flag, remember?). I frowned. I thought that something looked strange. Then my eyes widened and my jaw dropped. I started giggling and as I rushed back to the office, I prayed that no one saw the handiwork that we were slightly "proud" of.
I burst into the office, again, startling my poor colleague, and exclaimed loudly, "OH MY GOD!" She jumped up, wondering what has happened.
"The flag, the flag!"
"Huh?"
"It's facing the wrong way!"
My colleague burst out laughing. We rushed to the window to amend our error and thereafter, the cycle began again with the window blinds...

Commercial Break: On a different wavelength...
15/5/2007
For some odd reason, my company's callers seemed to be on a different wavelength...
Situation 1:
*Phone rings*
Caller A: Hello, may I speak to Mr X please?
Steffi: May I know who's on the line, please?
Caller A: Er...May I speak to Mr X...
Steffi: Yes, may I know who IS.ON.THE.LINE. please?
Caller A: Uh...Mr X
Steffi: *tries a different approach* May I know whom am I speaking to? *in my mind: WHO ARE YOU?!*
Caller A: Uh, I want to speak to Mr X
Steffi: OH, HEAVEN FORBIDS!
(Of course I didn't say that out loud)
Steffi: ...please hold on
Steffi: BOSS!! This girl ah, wants to speak to Mr X (who's wasn't around), but no matter how I asked her who she is also she won't tell... >.<#
Boss picks up phone.
After a few lines of conversation, he switched to Malay.
Steffi: Alriiiiiiiiiight,so she's a chinese who can't speak English then.
See...this is where the problem lies. In our office, my boss and I are both bananas (I think I'm better slightly better in Mandarin. He can speak Cantonese though), so we end up speaking Malay to non-English speaking Chinese. Really odd, eh?
Situation 2:
I was on the phone with a client's clerk.
Steffi: I need you to do something for me. It's about the new company that your boss wanted to buy.
Caller B: Eh? So far we've only bought one new Proton Waja (car)...
Steffi:...
Steffi: T_T
Steffi: Uh, it has got nothing to do with the Proton Waja...(somebody, just shoot me...)
Situation 3:
This happened yesterday. This caller has been trying to reach Mr Y the entire day (since we didn't know what time he'll come in, we just ask her to call back later to check).
Caller C: Hello, may I speak to Mr Y please?
Steffi: I'm sorry, but he didn't come in today (it's already 4.00pm. Quite sure that he won't be coming in)
Caller C: What? Tsk...*puts down phone*
Steffi: ...*sigh* You are welcome...
I know you are frustrated. That's not my problem. That's between you and him. You think I like listening to your voice, ah? Be more polite next time otherwise I won't even pick up your calls. >.<###

So, as a result from the above conversation, Abu is now known as Abu Cocklips. Their wonderful conversation has also given me a few ideas. Somehow, the image of a ceiling fan with blades replaced with c*** came up in my mind. I decided to ask my wonderful artistic friend, Darke Shard, to draw me a few pictures of cockfan and cocklips which he thought he heard wrongly.
Warning. Do not click on the links below if you are underaged. To the others...please enjoy looking at the pictures. All images are drawn by Darke Shard.
1. Darke Shard's version of
Cockfan12. Darke Shard's second version of
Cockfan2This is NOT true. I repeat. This is NOT true.
3. Darke Shard's third version of
Cockfan3Oh, by the way, that's a manga version of him...the little boy, not the chicken.
3. And this was what I had in mind...
Cockfan4Lastly, Abu Cocklips, this is for you...

Random Thoughts...
Either I'm losing it, or I'm too stressed up...
MSN conversation at work. No, I wasn't that free Ash. I was really busy. I just wanted to...er...take a break.
Steffi: u noe, i just realized
Steffi: it's gonna be difficult for us to explain to a foreigner
Steffi: how our name system works
Steffi: :S
Sugi: y
Steffi: if we go to japan, they'll tell u, the surname comes first, then the individual's name
Steffi: if they come here
Steffi: we'll tell them
Steffi: if you see a chinese, the english name will be the first name
Steffi: then
Steffi: after that it will be the surname
Steffi: and then followed by the chinese name
Steffi: if the chinese doesn't have an engish name
Steffi: then the first word is the surname
Steffi: and the second and third word is the individual's name
Steffi: if u see a malay
Steffi: the first word is the individual's name
Steffi: the second word, normally bin or binti, indicates whether the person is a male or female
Steffi: bin for male and binti for female
Steffi: then
Steffi: following that, is their father's name
Steffi: they have no family name
Steffi: and then
Steffi: if u see an indian...
Steffi: *takes a deep breathe*
Steffi: well
Steffi: u get what i mean?
Sugi: ya
Sugi: but now loads of indians r followin the western style
Sugi: like north indians
Sugi: north indians hav family names
Sugi: but i think dat is so much better
Sugi: yes i agree
Sugi: ppl wud be confused
Steffi: yeah
Steffi: that's why i said
Steffi: i haven't even started on ppl like Elizabeth Jessica Ronald (random name to replace my friend's name)
Steffi: and her last name is NOT a family name
Steffi: altho it follows the western style, like mine
Steffi: and in my case it is the western style ALTHO the second word is chinese name
Steffi: see?
Steffi: explaining to foreigners is going to be one hell of a problem
Sugi: hahaha
Sugi: dun bother
Sugi: just say 'call me steph'
Sugi: it'll make ur life so much asier
Sugi: hahaa
Sugi: *easier
Steffi: i mean if they ask lah
Well. Call me Steph. Or Steffi. Or Stephy. Or Steff. Maphy also can. Cheers.

The Call...
I have always thought, that in my line of work, I won't have to talk to mad people on the phone. However, I was proven wrong.
*Phone rings*
Steffi: Good morning, ABC Sdn Bhd...
Caller: Hello?
Steffi: Yes?
Caller: ...*heavy breathing*
Steffi: Uh, hello?
Caller: peria ada (it sounded like that to me)
Steffi: Huh?
Caller: ...*heavy breathing*
Steffi: Hello?
Caller: peria ada
Steffi: I'm sorry?
Caller: Kamu siapa?
Steffi: Sini ABC Sdn Bhd
Caller: ...*heavy breathing*
Steffi: ...*puts down phone. Grumbles to colleague about mad fellas*
Phone rings again.
Steffi: Ah, just ignore it.
Colleague: You sure?
Steffi: Yeah, don't pick it up, it's that mad woman again.
Colleague: Alright.
*phone continues ringing*
Steffi: AHHH! What the heck...*picks up phone* Good morning, ABC Sdn Bhd.
Caller: *breathes heavily* Hello...
*caller passes on phone to guy friend*
Guy friend: Hello, Ramlah ada?
Steffi: Ramlah? Sorry, wrong number
*overheard guy friend telling mad woman: Wrong number lah*
Mad woman taking phone back: Bla bla babi *puts down phone*
Steffi: *jaw drops* What the hell?!
I got scolded "BABI!" T_T For no reason! Just because I was telling the truth...
The way she was breathing down the phone, if she was a guy, I would have thought that she was a perverted stalker...

Terminology…
Beware...pointless post...
In my office, there are four of us. My Guy Boss and my colleague are in charge of the accounting and taxation work, whereas my Lady Boss and I handle the secretarial and other business management work. Sometimes, when my Guy Boss and my colleague talk to each other, I will be reminded of Ragnarok Online, especially the job class Wizard/Magician/etc.
The first word I heard which reminded me of the job class Hunter was "Sight".
Guy Boss: Have you "sight" the item?
Colleague: No, haven't "sight" the item yet.
Steffi:
Sight... Wasn't that one of my Hunter's skill? *Starts day-dreaming about Rangarok Online*Another day...
Guy Boss: yada yada yada "casting"...
Colleague: Yes, I've done the "casting" already...
Steffi:
Casting...*starts imagining boss and colleague in Ragnarok's wizards' robes, casting spells*This is getting dangerous. If one they, they talk about something related to Blacksmith of Ragnarok and I imagine my colleague and Guy Boss wearing Ragnarok's Blacksmith garment, I think I'll burst out laughing. T_T

And once upon a time at Gentings, while we were getting ready to descend…
Steffi: *sigh* It's gonna be so hot down there…
Friends: *laughing their asses out*
Steffi: huh?
Took me a few minutes to realize what my mistake was…
I try to be more careful now, but it still happens just like that. *sigh*
Do the following situations happen to you too?
Situation 1
Eating dinner at coffee shop. We(dad, sis and I) went there for the duck rice, that coffee shop has "tai chow" or Big Fry also. The Tai Chow fella approached us to ask if we wanted any vege.
Dad: Want vege or not?
Sis and I: Don't want.
Dad to TC Fella: What do you have?
Sis:...
Steffi:...
Dad: What you all want ah? This vege or that vege?
Sis and Steffi: -_- up to you.
Situation 2
Eating dinner at coffee shop. Waitress came to ask what drinks we want.
Dad: What drinks do you want?
Steffi: *opens mouth*
Dad to waitress: One teapot of *insert tea name here*
Steffi: ...WAIT WAIT! I don't want to drink tea!
So tell me, just what exactly is the point of asking in the first place?
Situation 3
This is an sms communication.
Dad: It's raining heavily now. Later when you go home, don't drive so fast
Steffi: Yalah, I know. I'll drive moderately fast.
Dad: No, you drive safely, not moderately fast.
Should I answer,"Ok, I'll drive moderately fast safely" ? Wonder what would his reply be...

Indicator of Well-Being
Ever since the blackout on Thursday night, I have been unable to connect to the internet. Since I was quite occupied over the weekends, and have access to Internet at work, I didn't really suffer from withdrawal. OK, maybe I did, but not as bad as last time. However, I do not realize that my presence in cyber world is an indicator of my well-being. This was what happened last night:-
Steffi: *sitting on the floor clutching modem* ARGH, GODDAMMIT PLEASE CONNECT!!! *shakes modem in frustration*
Phone rings.
Dad: (from downstairs) GIRL! (phone still ringing)
Steffi: *still on the floor, glaring at modem* MOM!
Heard from upstairs...
Dad: Hello? *beep* Hello? Hello? *beep* Hello?
Steffi: *muttering* Baka oyaji, still dunno how to use the phone properly...Mom probably picked up the phone already.
Continues meddling with cables and evil modem. After a few minutes...
Mom: (from the room) GIRL! Yee chai wants to talk to you! She said that it's so lonely without you online!
Steffi: *rushes to room and grabs the phone*
Steffi: Hello?
Aunt: What happened to you?
Steffi: *Wails loudly* I CAN"T CONNECT TO INTERNET *sniff sob*
Aunt: No wonder...you know how lonely it is without you online ah? I thought you were sick.
Aunt: When I went online, I was wondering, where's the usual "yo!" from you...
Steffi: HAHA!
Aunt: So I thought maybe you were busy and will come online later. After a while, when I checked MSN, you were still offline! So I did my stuffs again, and when I checked later, still offline!
Aunt: Then I was wondering, maybe you weren't around or something like that, but your cousin (her daughter) told me that she was chatting with you this afternoon.
Steffi: Yeah, I was at work mah. Can access to internet there. Luckily lah, otherwise I would have gone berserk.
Aunt: So I thought that you were critically ill, that's why I called to find out what happened.
Steffi: CHOI! I'm in good health. Minus my retarded ankle.
Aunt: HAHAHA! So, I'll see you when you get your modem to function again then.
Steffi: *sniff sob wails* Bye bye! *puts down phone*
Mom: You see lah...everytime you are not online, yee chai sure call to find out whether you are sick or not.
Steffi: ...
Steffi: it's that bad eh...
To those of you who are wondering about my absence online at night, my modem probably is critically ill. I'll be admitting it to ICU tomorrow. And yeah, I'm perfectly fine and healthy.
And, at work today...
Phone: *ring ring*
Steffi: yada yada good morning...
Client A: Eh, you know ah, this (some goverment dept) requires me to...Ah, wait ah, I fax to you ah...
Steffi: Ok
Client A: I'll call you back!
Steffi: ...ok...
Fax machine : *beep* (means it's receiving incoming fax)
Phone: *ring ring*
Steffi: yada yada good morning...
Client A: So you have received it...
Steffi: Hang on yeah, it's printing now...*goes to fax machine to collect document*
Steffi: It's all black...can't read it...
Client A: EH?! All black ah? Oh! Must be because the background is blue in colour. I should photostat first hor...
Steffi: Yeah...that's right...
Client A: Ok! I'll call back again
Steffi: Haha...sure...
Fax machine : *beep*
Phone: *ring ring*
Steffi: yada yada good morning...
Client A: Hello?
Steffi: Wait ah...the fax machine haven't printed yet...
Client A: Wah, why so slow wan, here said faxed over already..
Steffi: Because the fax machine has to receive all the data first before printing (bullshitting, but hopefully right lah)
Client A: Oh like that ah...
*discussion going on*
Client A: I need it by this week leh.
Steffi: *explains the whole process* If there's no problem, can get it in one day's time. Otherwise, about 5-10 days.
Client A: Cannot, cannot! Really need it by this week.
Steffi: *Exasperated. Look at Guy Boss helplessly. Guy boss laughing in the background* We have no control over this...it's the Registrar of Z (ROZ)after all...
Client: Then you please find other sources to obtain those things.
Steffi: *Wants to bang head. Guy Boss continues laughing* But it's the ROZ we are talking about... -_-|||
Client A: Just please get those things from other sources...
Steffi: *tick appearing on forehead while Guy Boss continues giggling* I will do my best then.
After putting down the phone.
Steffi: WARGH!!! ARGH!!! WHAT SHE MEAN BY "other sources" LAH, THERE"S ONLY ONE ROZ WAT! *wants to bite table*
Boss: Hahaha! We can't do anything about it, just try to get it lah.
Steffi: T_T
Some ppl JUST don't understand, that certain things aren't in our hands. Government departments especially have certain time period for all procedures. You can sulk, throw tantrum, hang yourself but procedures are procedures. If ROZ were to give in to every single ppl, that place will look as if a tornado has just passed by! Grrrr...I think my blood pressure has gone up a lot today.
Note: The name of the real registrar has been replaced for...er...confidential purposes.

Persistent Old Fogeys
When I was young, momma used to tell me, "Don't open doors for strangers". Now my boss is telling me that. But did I listen? Nooooo…but hey! I have my reasons! I'm not young anymore, right? Secondly, I have no idea how some of our clients look like. So I open the door and ask them, "Yes can I help you?" BIIIIG mistake. Just yesterday, an old Chinese couple rang our office's doorbell. So I open. Asked them what they wanted. And they went on and on about donation for disabled children's home. And I declined and declined. Conversation was in malay. Wonder why. The lady was pretty aggressive. I had to put my foot against the door to stop her from coming in. Just when I told her that there wasn't anyone in, the guy who rents a small room in our office's mother came out of the toilet. On seeing another lady here, she pushed her way in and went straight at her, and proceeded to disturb the other guy as well. Then, he told her that he's just working here and that she should talk to the boss (MY Guy Boss who wasn't in).
I told her that there wasn't anyone in as she can see for herself (this time in Cantonese). Had the nerve to tell me that she thought I was a Malay…She insisted on going into my workplace (a bigger room where all the staff is at) and started opening the door. MAN! THAT"S TOO MUCH! >.< I slammed the door shut and told her that she can't go in! then I tried getting them out. Then she continued bugging me to donate while her hubby or whoever it is wave the receipt like book under my nose. She went on and on about how I don't have a heart (howcome she left that guy alone so easily and won't stop bugging me ah?). Then I told her exasperatingly that I myself have to eat bread for lunch! (Not lying, really ate bread for lunch on that day). She said, "So charm wan meh, earn so little…" I answered," Yalah…memang earn little." Of course she thought that I was lying lah, not that I care. BUT they left. THANK GOD. After that I got lectured by both my boss and the other guy about letting strangers in, and I was thinking, "Asshole, was hoping you help me halau them, instead, push the problem back to me…"
Anyway, I have decided that I'll carry my knife with me when I open the door next time. No matter who that is. Haha, boss seems to be checking who is at the door quite often today…paranoid already. I've just discovered that when I'm pissed, I can actually speak Malay or Cantonese more fluently…than the usual stuttering that I do…hm…

Yesterday...
Boss: Hmmm...it's five already...time to go home.
Steffi: *Ignores and continues typing*
Boss: *meddle with this and that*
Steffi: Can you please sign here?
Boss: Ok. Oh, there are errors here.
Steffi: Ah? Sorry, I'll correct it. *type type...print*
(after a while)
Steffi: Ok, done. Can sign now.
Boss: Ok. Eh? I thought their bank is bla bla bla...
Steffi: Eh? (checks) That fella ah, give me all the wrong info (yeah yeah, put the blame on the client's right hand woman) *type type...print*
Boss: *waits in front of printer, grabs documents and sign*
Steffi: *raises eyebrow* (Boss has never done that before. Boss must have wanted to go back badly)
Boss: Ok, nah...

Friends comment regarding the above situation during dinner:
Friend M: Pity your boss lah, got an employee like you.
Steffi: Got lots of work mah since lady boss not around, I just want his signature. Luckily yesterday he wasn't at work, so could OT.
(silence)
Steffi: Somehow, that doesn't sound right.
Friend C: Exactly. If my boss wasn't around, I'd have left immediately when it was time to go home.
Steffi: LOL
(later)
Friend M: I have this nice movie on dvd to watch. It's about bla bla bla (I can't remember the title).
Steffi: Hmmm...not that I don't want to, but...not that free...unless weekend lah...Pathetic, huh? No social life...
Friend M: That's why I'm trying to help you.
Steffi: But...I don't see how...
Friend M: It's better than coming back home from work, and then sleep.
Steffi: I don't, I watch anime alone.
Friend M: That's why lah, watch the dvd
Steffi: But how does it help...Isn't it the same thing as watching anime?
Friend M:...does watching it together ever came into your mind.
Steffi: OH! oh...you mean watch together...
Friend C: Work doesn't suit you...
Steffi: Why?
Friend C: Look at what work did to you...

Goddammit...
Today, was a really busy busy day. Since Lady Boss is in Hong Kong, I communicate with her via Yahoo Messenger. The following is an excerpt taken from the chat (at least what I can remember lah):
Steffi: These directors ah, fly here, fly there, so susah only. Always need to prepare the documents in a rush for them to sign before they fly off...
Lady Boss: Hehe...
Steffi: Luckily Client A doesn't fly around...
Lady Boss: You should be wishing that she flies away...
Steffi: Actually, it'll be better if she flies away...(message was sent one second after hers)
Lady Boss: Yeah...haha.
(half an hour later, Client A called)
Client A: yak yak yak
Steffi: yak yak yak (puts down phone)
(back to Yahoo Messenger)
Steffi:...you know what I said about Client A flying? I wish she did...
Lady Boss: LOL...(and so on and so forth).
And since momma isn't around, there ain't no dinner at home. So me dad and I went to SS2 Glutton Square (wai sek kai) to have dinner. We ordered porridge. Then, my dad sauntered off somewhere, to order steamed soup. This was what happened after that, conversation is in cantonese:
Porridge woman: Ei? Where's the customer?
Friend: who?
Porridge woman: There, that husband and wife (leong kung po).
Steffi: *raises eyebrow*
Porridge woman: Where's that husband and wife ah? He told me that he's sitting here.
Steffi:...*wonders whether she should say anything*
Porridge woman: *clicking her tongue and sighed*
Steffi: Excuse me, are those two bowls mine?
Porridge woman: Ah! There you are...haha, I've forgotten where you sit (was diagonally in front of her).
Steffi: *grins* it's ok...(she started speaking in mandarin. Being a banana, Steffi just mumbled and nods).
...do I look that old? My dad is 50++ and I'm 22. Or does she think that I'm a young wifey? *cries*
I won't eat from you anymore *glares at porridge woman*.
Then, we went to the clinic (dad wanted to see the doc). Convo in the car (in English this time, of course):
Dad: You can go to Jaya to shop around while I go to the clinic and then to the barber.
Steffi: Ok
Dad: You carrying your hand bag...
Steffi: Yeah...
Dad: Why?!
Steffi: Then where to keep my things?
Dad: Where's your IC?
Steffi: In my bag...
Dad: WHY?!
Steffi: Do you see any pockets?
Dad: ...ok lah. I won't go to the barber. You wait for me in the clinic
Steffi: Sure...
Paranoid. Of course, I understand what he's implying also lah. I've seen a girl entering the clinic with her shoulders bleeding. All because of a snatch thief who snatched her bag and she fell. Luckily, her BF was with her.
Just the other day, on Merdeka day (yes, I managed to wake up in the morning, no, I didn't suffer from hangover) at Megamall, I saw many many guys holding their GF's handbag. An unusual sight for me. I was wondering aloud as to why this was happening. Then my mom said, " Guys stronger mah, the snatch thief will think twice before snatching the handbag away from them." Right...Never thought of that. But it was sweet of them. Then I said to me mom, "Heh, dad wouldn't even hold the handbag for 30 seconds..." Mom didn't comment. LOL! Next time I should try asking my dad...though I'm 90% sure that he'll refuse. :D

Murderous Files
It's been a LONG LONG time since I have last posted a blog. Reason being? No inspiration. Too many animes to watch. Too many mangas to read. Too lazy to think. Didn't help that I was suffering from mild case of insomnia. Mom said, it's because I've got nothing to do. Haze has kept me confined at home and all I did was plop my fat bum onto the chair and watch anime. Then she asked if there's anything troubling me, because that can cause insomnia too. I realized however, that the problem is I have no problems to worry about. So my mind is probably too active. In conclusion, I should go create more problems so that I can sleep better.:D
Anyway, I have always thought the way the files are kept on the shelves in my office will cause a file avalanche one day. And just yesterday, one almost fall on top of me. To which my boss said "Be careful, don't get murdered by the files." I was imagining myself buried under a pile of files...hmm...I wonder how many files that would take.
I hate pop ups too. I am especially afraid that a REALLY sexy picture of a woman will pop up while my boss is passing by. Now, even viagra ads are popping up...where's my ad-aware...
Last night, mom was commenting on my room. "It's a pig sty," she said. I looked into my room, and saw my three pig plushies looking at me. I picked them up, cuddled them, and said, " Pig sty, yah? Heheheheh...Pig sty, yah?" Well, the joke was, I was borned in the year of the pig, so I'm a piggie as well...Mom just rolled her eyes and went into her room. Poor mom...

The Stupid Things I Do & See When…
I do not have enough sleep.
Scene 1:
It was study leave week, last semester of my college life. Naturally, I slept really late "studying" and I had to wake up early the next morning. Mom asked me to wash the clothes. So I did that. First, I turned on the washing machine. Then I turned on the water supply and poured in the detergent. Finally I closed the lid and walked off…when suddenly...
Mom: STEPH!!!!
Steffi: Huh?
Mom: THE CLOTHES! (while pointing onto the floor)
Steffi: *Blinks. Looks down* OH NO!!!!
Mom: I JUST CAN"T BELIEVE YOU!
Steffi: *Laughing hysterically*
Mom: HOW CAN YOU WASH THE CLOTHES WITHOUT THE CLOTHES?!
Steffi: (Still laughing while gathering the clothes)
...so....that was that.
Scene 2:
Exam week, on the day of a paper. Friend A was driving while I was sitting behind, still half asleep when I saw something running across the road.
Steffi: ...annette...did a monkey just ran across the road?
Friend A: ...what monkey?
Steffi: I thought I saw a monkey running across the road in front of your car…
Friend B: Where got...
Friend A: Steph...what are you talking about?! THERE"S NO MONKEY!
Steffi: *mumbles* I thought I saw one...
Scene 3:
This happened recently, after my part time (full day) class at One Utama SC. Was paying the parking ticket. First, I inserted the ticket. Then, the one dollar note. And then, took the ticket back and waited. And waited. For the stupid one dollar not to come out. And then I realized that I was waiting for a one dollar note that will never come out because the ticket price was one dollar. Wheeeee....Must not daydream while paying for the ticket anymore next time.
I'm sure there are others as well, but I've forgotten, which leads to...
Scene 4:
I have been corresponding with one of my clients quite frequently over some matters and was waiting for a reply from him. However, two weeks later...
Lady Boss: Have you received any reply from Mr Z?
Steff: ...
Steffi: Somehow, that name sounded so familiar...
Lady Boss: STEFFI!
Steffi: *blinks*
Lady Boss: Mr Z is the director of that company! The one you've been corresponding with!
Steffi: ...OH!!!!!! Now I remember.
And then Lady boss continued testing me, to see if I can remember other clients whom I've been corresponding with frequently. *Sigh*
On the bright side, FMP TSR IS OUT! OMGOMGOMGOMG! I’m SO EXCITED! I have just watched the first episode last nite. OMG! I REALLY MISSED SAGARA SOUSUKE! They still look good…I hope the entire series will be good as well!
And on the Harry Potter book. Yes, I have it with me. No I haven't read it. And please don't tell me anything about it coz I won't hesistate to murder that person. I've been refraining myself from reading is as I have yet to complete my assignment. Which is torturous. Every now and then I'll go and touch the book without realizing it. Extremely torturous. So don't tempt me. >.< I've warned you.

Rainy Tuesday
For some odd reason, I kept on thinking that today's Friday. Hmph. Pounding headache the WHOLE day. Serves me right for sleeping late the night before. At least I didn't have to swim today. Had a buzy morning. An insurance agent for our company came in after lunch and asked me all sorts of questions which I don't even know the answer to.
Lady: Can I have your IC?
Steffi: Sure
Lady: Is Kampung Tunku your address?
Steffi: Yeah. (uh...it's in the IC...how wrong can it get?)
Lady: bla bla bla
Steffi: Bla bla bla
Lady: What's your post?
Steffi: Assistant to company secretary.
Lady: Pardon?
Steffi: Assistant to company secretary.
Lady: Not admin assistant?
Steffi: No.
HELL, LADY! Did you actually think that you know my post in the company more than I do? I believe I'm the one who signed the employment agreement...*Sigh* Just because I look like one doesn't mean I'm one! Never judge a person by their looks...HMPH.
But of course, I had to make a fool out of myself.
Lady: Do you have any problems with your eyes?
Steffi: Does counting specs wear?
(pauses for a second)
Steffi: I MEAN, does wearing specs count?
OH MAN! >.< I used to have this bad habit of switching the words last time, but it went off. And now it's back. ALL BECAUSE OF HER.
And after that, I had to use the EVIL TYPEWRITER. I also had to use the cellophane tape to correct my mistakes. T_T It still doesn't like me... Oddly enough, time passed quite fast today. Spent the rest of my free time doing assignment and e-mailing Wy-Pun. Wy-Pun, it's not fair...howcome YOU HAVE TIME TO READ STORIES? You as a programmer (is that your title?) should be busier than me!

Boredom
I wrote what I did on a paper today, so that I will not forget what happened when I write this blog. But...I have forgotten to bring that paper back. T_T Let's see if I can recall what happened today. Erm, yeah, Lady Boss wasn't around today coz she has a meeting so I was alone with Guy Boss. Which means less work, though Lady Boss did send instructions on what to do through e-mail. One of them is to ask Guy Boss for money to top up Jaring account. The other was to ask Guy Boss money to make payments to ROC. Though it wasn't for myself, I still felt embarrassed for asking him for so much. >.<
Lady: Hello? (insert company name) ah?
Me: Yes?
Lady: What's your fax number ah?
Me:
(insert number)
Lady: (grunts and puts down the phone)
Me: O.o
What on earth happened to the Thank you? Or introducing herself?! SHEESH! Later on, my Guy Boss called the same company, and someone else picked up the phone. Put him on hold, and then just hanged up the phone like that. That company sure has some attitude problem...
Feeling bored, I decided to try out Pornogami (Guy Boss has gone out). Well...it went into the dustbin. Haih. Not ready for something so complex yet. During lunch, bought two packets of origami paper. Oh, by the way, I was left all alone after lunch. Tried the chicken origami. The result was...a chicken who has lost his crown and has been pecking on cement floor for quite some time AND high on drugs. It went into the dustbin as well. While keeping a plastic bag into the drawer, my Polly Pocket castle version (which I brought to show my Lady Boss' daughter) caught my attention. Hey! Why not play with that! Opened it up, started setting the dolls and things in place and...ah well. It's bored playing with just one character there (the princess of the castle) since the prince is missing (he ran away from the princess...). Chucked that to one side. Pity I don't have a laptop with me, otherwise I would be able to watch Saiyuki. After all, a laptop looks normal in an office whereas a bright pink Polly Pocket looks totally out of place in an office.
Next, decided to read fanfiction while folding simpler origamis. Table seems to be getting more colourful. Played around till it's time to go home, swam, had dinner, bought some stuffs and watched Saiyuki.
And right now...WHY THE HELL ARE THE MOSQUITOES ALL ATTACKING ME?! Excuse me while I go annihilate them...DIE YOU BLOODSUCKER! WAHAHAHAHAHA!Labels: Ranting and Raving Numbnut, Work
Animes, kids and toys nowadays
I'm currently watching Gensoumaden Saiyuki Reload now, but if I don't write now, I'd probably won't do it later. Haha, lazy pig, that's me. First thing in the morning when I woke up at six thirty was to call my buddy, Wai Kit. No, it's NOT a daily wake up call service. It's just for today, to remind him to burn my anime, Saiyuki which I'm watching now. That's how crazy I am about animes. Sacrificing my sleep time so that I can watch it today. After that I fell back asleep, woke up late, and arrived just in time for work after going through a jam (why are there so many cars on the road today? Hmmmm...). Sky was pretty gloomy and started raining after a while. Was given work to do, asked to print some stuffs...and then Words hanged. So, restarted words and tried printing again. Hanged again. Tried restarting the computer, but this time the WHOLE computer hanged (or was it crashed? ha, so called IT graduate). But anyway, I have concluded that gloomy sky or rainy day = computers go cranky day.
Anyway, the day brightenened with the arrival of my Lady Boss' daughter. Such a cute little girl! Kids nowadays ain't the same as kids last time anymore. I mean, I don't remember saying "Who dares to scold me? I'm the boss' daughter!" Wow. A five yrs old kid saying that. Or "Why is my mommy doing work for you? Your own work, you should do it yourself!" Sure can't help laughing whenever she argues with my other boss...very entertaining.
I really envy kids nowadays. Toys now are really really fun to play with! My boss' son is getting a laser beam gun with the body contraption that has a round screen in the front. Shoot that screen and it'll beep, indicating that the person wearing it has been shot. 150 pounds for that. Hmmmm...wish I could afford one. One of the toys I had (and still have) was Polly Pocket and that requires the player to imagine...a lot. It was fun though.
And again, I was left alone this afternoon. Not that I'm complaining. Afterall, I've just discovered how fun it is to do origami. Wonder what my bosses will say when they see the bear, tulip, butterfly and crane all over my desk tomorrow...
Had dinner at Giant with an exclassmate and collected my darling animes from him. Went back home and here I am, watching it...er...now. Yeah. I'll continue watching now. See ya!
