The Curse...

It's already 27th of August and we have yet to hang up the National flag at my office. Suddenly remembering, I exclaimed loudly that we had to hang the flag up, startling my colleague who was working diligently on her laptop (no, I'm not being sarcastic, she really is too hardworking). We took the flag out, and I had the honour of pulling up the blinds behind my seat where the window is. See, the thing about the window blinds is that we were hardly successful in releasing it down after pulling it up in the past.

However, the blinds on the second REFUSED to stay up today, so I had to step on the string attached to the blinds in order to keep it up.after that, we managed to hang the flag without any problem. It was time to release the blinds. Lifting my foot up, I expected the second window's blinds to fall down since it wasn't "locked". Strangely enough, nothing happened. The blinds remained secured up the window. BAH. After a few tries, we managed to release the blinds.

Now the first window blinds however...the more we tried to release it, the higher up it went. Until...we were exposed to the world like a newborn baby -_- After much desperate struggling, the blinds came down. Good.

Then I turned back to my computer and found that the screen was blank. Strange. I didn't turn it off. That was when my colleague commented that she "smelt something burning". Panicking, I tried to turn my computer on a few times. Nothing happened. I crouched down and took a sniff at my CPU's air vents. The only thing that came to my mind was, "OMFG!!!"

My colleague however, made the situation funny...when it shouldn't be. She innocently (or jokingly?) asked whether the CPU "fried" due to the sunlight that came in from the "blind-less" window earlier. I laughed out loud and told her that that was impossible. Fortunately, my work was backed up so I could use another computer to do my work.

Hours later, after having a good lunch at Sugimoto (Japanese restaurant, duh)I walked back to office. I looked up to admire our handiwork (the flag, remember?). I frowned. I thought that something looked strange. Then my eyes widened and my jaw dropped. I started giggling and as I rushed back to the office, I prayed that no one saw the handiwork that we were slightly "proud" of.

I burst into the office, again, startling my poor colleague, and exclaimed loudly, "OH MY GOD!" She jumped up, wondering what has happened.

"The flag, the flag!"

"Huh?"

"It's facing the wrong way!"

My colleague burst out laughing. We rushed to the window to amend our error and thereafter, the cycle began again with the window blinds...

Rock Hard

Went to SS2 one weekend morning with my mother. I was surprised that my PARENTS noticed THIS first:

Like, weeks or months before I did.

Which is strange, really, considering that I'm the most corrupted of the family. I know that things look different from another point of view. Perhaps I haven't been looking at it from THIS point of view.

Sometimes, even an SM Queen like me may have overlooked things like that, because that thing is just too HUGE.

No, I don't go for small peckers. XP

The Unfortunate Left Third Finger

I don't make any crude signs with it, so why is my finger being punished? *sobs*

Just before Chinese New Year

I managed to super glue my said third finger to my shoe. Don't ask how.

Steffi: *Tried to pull finger away* Ow ow ow...it hurts
Steffi: Quick, bring hot water!
Mom: You'll burn you finger!
Steffi: Then how?!
Sis: Eh, use baby lotion lah.
Steffi: Har? Does that work for super glue?
Sis: Yeah
Steffi: How did you know?
Mom: You are asking someone who is always getting herself stuck to things. *runs to room to get baby lotion*
Steffi: ...
Sis: ...
Steffi: You...always super glue yourself to things?
Sis: ...
Sis: NOT ALWAYS! Just a few times.
Steffi: ...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! (Note: Finger is still stuck to the shoe)

So, baby lotion works like magic, but since I've already tried pulling my finger away earlier, a good chunk of skin is now stuck to the shoe.

Just before Chinese New Year Part 2

Nothing much. Just had paper cut on the same finger.

After Chinese New Year

Was shopping for a present for my friend. Went to this accessories shop by Giordano at Sunway Pyramid (really cool designs!). Saw this interesting ring and tried it on, yes, on my third finger. After discovering the price (RM300++) tried to remove it, but...

Steffi: It won't come out!
Mom: See! I told you not to try it!
Steffi: But it went in easily! *struggles to pull ring out*

After 5 minutes...

Steffi: It still won't come out! I think we'll have to pay for it and go home like that.
Mom: Don't be silly, now bend your finger when pulling it out!
Steffi: I can't! It's too big!
Mom: (to sales assistant)Don't you have water?
Steffi: Don't be silly, it'll spoil the ring, how about baby lotion
Salesgirl: I don't have either...(more like she's reluctant to spoil the ring, haha)

Another 5 minutes later...

Steffi: DAMMIT IT WON"T COME OUT!
Mom: I told you already not to bla bla bla...
Steffi: I told you already I didn't force it in!

And yet another 5 minutes later...

Steffi: *panicking* Shit...won't come out.
Mom: Don't pull your finger out..
Steffi: *studies ring carefully* It's because there are so many gaps that the flesh is trapped in between. See, if I do this, it'll move a bit.
Steffi: Ok, we do it this way. I'll pull my flesh back and you pull the ring out.
*Puts plan into action. Ring comes out*
Steffi: Huh! Finally! But you see, my finger is so red now. There's even a red indentation...*reaches out for her old ring*
Mom: Don't wear that now, let your finger rest a bit.
Steffi: Ok...

After Chinese New Year Part 2

Today. Received letter from someone's despatch. Our office bought a new "RECEIVED" stamp with the date and all. It's a huge new one. Chunky. And I stamped with all my might on the letter. However, the letter wasn't the only thing that got stamped. My third finger got a taste of the huge new chunky stamp. And I saw stars for more than five minutes. It's still sore now. I wonder if I'll become Steffi of Nine Fingers soon.

Comic Fiesta 2007

Presenting to you...

COMIC FIESTA 2007!

The last anime convention /comic fiesta /however you want to call it that I went to was about 4 years ago I think...So anyway, my sister told me to go as a lolita this year...however, when I went to the lolita shop which I have tried on the clothes before, it had vanished! Another shop only allowed members in, on top of that members aren't allowed to try the clothes! Ridiculous, considering that the prices of the clothes are more than RM300.

So what does a poor Lolita wannabe do? Improvise of course.

I got myself a while frilly lacy top and added black laces to it. Then I added white laces and ribbons to my long black skirt, and voila!

My mom even got for me an "English lady/Queen E" brooch to pin at my collar.
Needless to say, when we first arrived, I almost died of embarrassment, used my friend as a shield (didn't work) and sneaked in through the side entrance to get to the 6th floor.

There were LOTS of people there. It was held in two shop lots. The entrance fee was RM10.

The cosplayers were really nice people, very obliging, they allowed us to take pictures with them without any fuss. The first two cosplayers we took picture with were two characters from D.Grayman, Allen Walker and Linali...

There was also a Bongun from Ragnarok Online, a very well known MMORPG. I confess, I was once an avid Ragnaroker...

He was really good! He was really into character from the start until the end. He even "died" and had to be resurrected!

Oh, there were many items on sale, and on display too.

Figurines from various animes.

Oh, one of the most popular character was none other than HANI SEnPAI FROM OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB! WOOHOO!

Hani senpai was really shy, LOL! He found his pink rabbit to be really useful...This Hani senpai can also play the violin!

Other Ouran Host Club members trying to coax Hani senpai to show his face...

Hani senpai finally shows his face!

Hani senpai playing with paper roses...

I was told that Hani senpai cried later because the crowd around him was getting too big for his liking! Poor boy!

Of course, there were Bleach characters too...

Zaraki Kenpachi, the 11th squad captain! His "hair" is amazing...it even smacked my head when he bent down to put his bags on the floor.

And the prob the most famous character at the fiesta...

KON...pachi. Eh?! KONPACHI? Why Konpachi? Because it's Kon wearing Zaraki Kenpachi's uniform! Or maybe it's Zaraki Kenpachi wearing a Kon headgear...Hmmm...

Konpachi on stage posing...

RARR!!! KONPACHI RULES!

I left early so I didn't get to take picture with Konpachi T_T

Oh, there's also White Ichigo/Inner Hollow Ichigo and Kira!

Freaky like the anime one, eh?

Ok, so other characters...

Characters from Air Gear

Characters from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu.

Characters from xXx-Holic

Sousui Seki from Rozen Maiden.

Characters from Legend of Zelda, they were too tired to stand! I would be too...if I were them.

Echizen Ryoma from Prince of Tennis.

There were also non-anime/TV characters such as...

Mr TV Man! I was really amused when I saw him and couldn't resist taking pictures with him!

SWAT member...Probably from Counter Strike

This sexy chick is actually a guy!

Neko-chan! He was so cute on stage when he was performing a famous dance from Suzumiya Haruhi.

And last but not least...

...NANI KORE?!POCKY!!! But...uh...why Pocky?

Group photo. Yes, that is Ten Ten from Naruto there...

Preliminary cosplayers on stage. It's gonna collapse!

The MC was a really funny guy too...We even had requests for our pictures to be taken! Not by the MC lah, by other photographers. Hahaha, soaking up on public attention for the first time. :P Overall it was good, although I missed half of it because I had to go somewhere else.

Abu (6/14/2006 2:46:41 PM): hahahhahha
Abu (6/14/2006 2:46:46 PM): cock slippers?

So, as a result from the above conversation, Abu is now known as Abu Cocklips. Their wonderful conversation has also given me a few ideas. Somehow, the image of a ceiling fan with blades replaced with c*** came up in my mind. I decided to ask my wonderful artistic friend, Darke Shard, to draw me a few pictures of cockfan and cocklips which he thought he heard wrongly.

Warning. Do not click on the links below if you are underaged. To the others...please enjoy looking at the pictures. All images are drawn by Darke Shard.

1. Darke Shard's version of Cockfan1
2. Darke Shard's second version of Cockfan2
This is NOT true. I repeat. This is NOT true.
3. Darke Shard's third version of Cockfan3
Oh, by the way, that's a manga version of him...the little boy, not the chicken.
3. And this was what I had in mind...Cockfan4

Lastly, Abu Cocklips, this is for you...COCKLIPS!

Senile...or not?

People said, as we age, we get more senile. But sometimes, I wonder to what extent this statement is true?

Situation 1:

It was sometime around late last year when my paternal grandma came down with my aunt to stay with my uncle. We decided to take them out for dinner at a nearby restaurant. This restaurant was once at another location.

(Conversation is in Cantonese/English)

Grandma: Where are we going?
Dad: To this restaurant ABC.
Grandma: *she has a bit of hearing problem* Ha?
Aunt: RESTAURANT ABC
Grandma: Oh...last time, it was under the bridge there right?
The rest of us: *amazed*
Dad: Wah...she can remember eh? I totally forgotten about that.
Aunt: Hahaha...sometimes she can really remember things...

After dinner, at my uncle's house...

Mom: Ok lah, we have to go now.
Steffi: Yeah, bye! *walks out to put on shoes*
Grandma: Ah bye bye...Ah wait...what's her name ah? *gestures towards me*
Steffi: *almost fell over*
Mom: Stephanie...haha
Steffi: T_T She can remember where that restaurant was at TEN, TWENTY YRS AGO and she can't even remember my name?!
Dad: Aiyah, she can remember things when she was younger that time...
Steffi: I EXISTED MORE THAN TWENTY YRS AGO!!! -_-|||

Situation 2:

Few months later, she came down again with my two other aunts. Again, we went out for dinner at another restaurant.

(Conversation in Cantonese)
Grandma: *stares at me*
Steffi: *looks back*
Grandma: *to mom* Where are the other two?
Steffi: O_o Two...?
Mom: No, no... I only have two daughters...not three.
Grandma: Oh...haha...wrong person...

I suddenly acquired another sibling :S

Situation 3:

I went back to Kluang recently for Cheng Beng and also to celebrate my grandma's birthday. So while the older folks talk to each other, I just walked around the hall, looking for something new.

Grandma: Where's the other one? (luckily she said one this time, and not two)
Mom: Oh, the other one is staying at the University yada yada yada
Grandma: pot pet pot pet
The rest: pot pet bla bla
Grandma: So, where's the other one...
Steffi: *sweatdrops*
Mom: *explains all over again*
Steffi: *browsing through the photo album*
Grandma: So, has she found a boyfriend yet? *meaning ME*
Steffi: *jaw went slack, almost dropped the album*
Mom: Haha...not yet lah...
Steffi: ...she can remember to ask that...

The next day, my guy cousin had lunch with us before taking the train back to Singapore.

Cousin: Ok, I'm going now.
The rest of us: Ok, bye bye, have a safe journey...
Grandma: Ah...who's that ah...
Steffi: ^-^;
Aunt: *tells her his name*
Grandma: Oh...

I...really dunno what to think of this matter. But it sure is amusing. Wonder whether I'll be like that next time.

I am a Macho Man!

It's been a long time since I've watched DVD at home. The last one I watched at home was Deuce Bigalow 2. Quite funny, in my opinion. So last night, I was out with my parents when we passed by the DVD seller. I decided to look for the shows that I wanted. If anyone has Snow Dogs, do tell me. When we approached the seller, he started recommending Crash.

Seller: Buy this movie lah, it's quite "hot". See, I only have three pieces left. Good show.
Steffi: *to mom* I don't know what that show is about, so don't think I should get that first.
Mom: Ok...So get that one for your father to watch lah *points to Brokeback Mountain*
Steffi: *grins in amusement and looks at dad*
Dad: What, what? *looks over mom's shoulder*
Steffi: Mom said, get that one for you to watch. *points to Brokeback Mountain*
Dad: HEI! CEH! I DON"T WANT TO WATCH THAT! Take Crash lah...
Steffi: Yah, yah, we all know how macho you are...*rolls eyes* Well, I'm still getting it. I want to watch. *to seller* One of that please, and Crash too...

So, now, I have about uh...three dvds and one vcd to watch. And my aunt's four more albums of shows. When will I get around to watching it...

Sunday Morning

It was all my fault. I knew that I was going to have class today, and yet I slept really EARLY this morning at 1.30a.m. Needless to say, it was really difficult to wake up at 7.15a.m. this morning. Anyway, when mom asked where would we want to go for breakfast, my syster mentioned the shop where the "Pug" waiter worked at. Remember the Pug waiter from previous post? I wasn't too happy to hear her reply, but since my sis seldom gets to eat out (she stays at the uni campus), I agreed.

When we reached there, I noticed that the Pug was busy washing cups in the kitchen. Phew! I sneaked into the shop and ordered my breakfast. However, while I was halfway eating, Pug walked past my table, noticed me and turned around to stare. Talk about being obvious! I pretended that I didn't see thatand continued talking to my famikly members. Inwardly, I was tensed and you could actually see an imaginary red siren going off!

About ten minutes later, just before we left (I ate in a hurry after that) he did that again. This time, even my mom and sis noticed it. Aiyeeeee!!! Don't be like that lah...I want to enjoy the food there!!

We dropped my sis off at home before going to my college. My college is situated in an area wheret he darker skinned people dominates. Of course, being half asleep, my brain wasn't interpreting words correctly.

Mom: The lighting here is so bad that it will be so dark here at night.
Dad: Yeah...
Mom: You'd only be able to see teeth floating around at night (for some odd reason, the darker skinned people have really nice white teeth. I'm so envious!)
Steffi: Tits?! Why would you see tits... (starts imagining "Public Relations Officers" walking around without wearing bra at night)
Mom: Uh...yeah...Teeths...
Steffi:...OH! Teeths! HAHAHA! I thought you said tits, you know, those "pelacur"
Dad: Oh my god, your mind ah!!!
Mom: (laughing hysterically)
Steffi: But that's because mom didn't pronounced it properly...It sounded like tits!

And our conversation ended there as I have reached my college. ^-^

Innuendos

My friend, Haze, gave us both (Fire and I) a quiz to do...Only people with corrupted minds will understand the conversation =D

[12:13] Steffi: Fire did it oredi?
[12:13] Fire: aahhahahah
[12:13] Haze: yea
[12:13] Steffi: I MEAN FIRE HAS ALREADY GONE TRU THAT?!
[12:13] Haze: hahaha

[11:54] Haze: aiseh
[11:55] Haze: i tot u were thinking something pervy
[11:55] Steffi: ...
[11:55] Steffi: since u were expecting

[11:55] Haze: ....
[11:55] Steffi: I MEAN U WERE EXPECTING ME TO SAY SOMETHING PERVY
[11:55] Haze: AHAHHAHAAA

And once upon a time at Gentings, while we were getting ready to descend…

Steffi: *sigh* It's gonna be so hot down there…
Friends: *laughing their asses out*
Steffi: huh?

Took me a few minutes to realize what my mistake was…

I try to be more careful now, but it still happens just like that. *sigh*

Do the following situations happen to you too?

Situation 1
Eating dinner at coffee shop. We(dad, sis and I) went there for the duck rice, that coffee shop has "tai chow" or Big Fry also. The Tai Chow fella approached us to ask if we wanted any vege.

Dad: Want vege or not?
Sis and I: Don't want.
Dad to TC Fella: What do you have?
Sis:...
Steffi:...
Dad: What you all want ah? This vege or that vege?
Sis and Steffi: -_- up to you.

Situation 2
Eating dinner at coffee shop. Waitress came to ask what drinks we want.

Dad: What drinks do you want?
Steffi: *opens mouth*
Dad to waitress: One teapot of *insert tea name here*
Steffi: ...WAIT WAIT! I don't want to drink tea!

So tell me, just what exactly is the point of asking in the first place?

Situation 3
This is an sms communication.

Dad: It's raining heavily now. Later when you go home, don't drive so fast
Steffi: Yalah, I know. I'll drive moderately fast.
Dad: No, you drive safely, not moderately fast.

Should I answer,"Ok, I'll drive moderately fast safely" ? Wonder what would his reply be...

The Stupid Things I Do & See When…

I do not have enough sleep.

Scene 1:

It was study leave week, last semester of my college life. Naturally, I slept really late "studying" and I had to wake up early the next morning. Mom asked me to wash the clothes. So I did that. First, I turned on the washing machine. Then I turned on the water supply and poured in the detergent. Finally I closed the lid and walked off…when suddenly...

Mom: STEPH!!!!
Steffi: Huh?
Mom: THE CLOTHES! (while pointing onto the floor)
Steffi: *Blinks. Looks down* OH NO!!!!
Mom: I JUST CAN"T BELIEVE YOU!
Steffi: *Laughing hysterically*
Mom: HOW CAN YOU WASH THE CLOTHES WITHOUT THE CLOTHES?!
Steffi: (Still laughing while gathering the clothes)

...so....that was that.

Scene 2:

Exam week, on the day of a paper. Friend A was driving while I was sitting behind, still half asleep when I saw something running across the road.

Steffi: ...annette...did a monkey just ran across the road?
Friend A: ...what monkey?
Steffi: I thought I saw a monkey running across the road in front of your car…
Friend B: Where got...
Friend A: Steph...what are you talking about?! THERE"S NO MONKEY!
Steffi: *mumbles* I thought I saw one...

Scene 3:

This happened recently, after my part time (full day) class at One Utama SC. Was paying the parking ticket. First, I inserted the ticket. Then, the one dollar note. And then, took the ticket back and waited. And waited. For the stupid one dollar not to come out. And then I realized that I was waiting for a one dollar note that will never come out because the ticket price was one dollar. Wheeeee....Must not daydream while paying for the ticket anymore next time.

I'm sure there are others as well, but I've forgotten, which leads to...

Scene 4:

I have been corresponding with one of my clients quite frequently over some matters and was waiting for a reply from him. However, two weeks later...

Lady Boss: Have you received any reply from Mr Z?
Steff: ...
Steffi: Somehow, that name sounded so familiar...
Lady Boss: STEFFI!
Steffi: *blinks*
Lady Boss: Mr Z is the director of that company! The one you've been corresponding with!
Steffi: ...OH!!!!!! Now I remember.

And then Lady boss continued testing me, to see if I can remember other clients whom I've been corresponding with frequently. *Sigh*

On the bright side, FMP TSR IS OUT! OMGOMGOMGOMG! I’m SO EXCITED! I have just watched the first episode last nite. OMG! I REALLY MISSED SAGARA SOUSUKE! They still look good…I hope the entire series will be good as well!

And on the Harry Potter book. Yes, I have it with me. No I haven't read it. And please don't tell me anything about it coz I won't hesistate to murder that person. I've been refraining myself from reading is as I have yet to complete my assignment. Which is torturous. Every now and then I'll go and touch the book without realizing it. Extremely torturous. So don't tempt me. >.< I've warned you.
